Tunable Flat Alvarez Optics

a) Cylindrical lens

Tunable cylindrical lens is made of a pair of photo-patterned 1D Alvarez components coated with liquid crystal polymer. Lateral shift between components leads to lens focus tuning in a wide range.

Tunable spherical lens is made of a pair of photo-patterned 2D Alvarez components coated with liquid crystal polymer. Shift between components provides lens focus change in a wide range.
